Foundation News

Hi again from the Foundation team.

What a busy couple of weeks it has been. The foundation students have enjoyed a liturgy together in our Chapel, a visit and working uniform demonstration from firefighters and our school fun run.

It was great to see parents and siblings in the Chapel last week supporting our students  - they did a great job reading, singing and participating respectfully in our first liturgy without our buddies.

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement of the school fun run last week - both in attendance and in helping set up fundraising profiles for your children.

The Foundation students had an absolute ball and always provide a real highlight for the day - with enthusiasm certainly making up for stamina.

The students also thoroughly enjoyed the firefighters visit with lots of questions, great discussion and answers around fire safety and safe meeting places for families at home.

We have sent home a small homework activity for students to discuss and then draw their families safe meeting place - with the letterbox being a great place suggested by the firefighters.

If you missed this please let your child's teacher know and we can send home another one.

The fire fighters will return next term with their firetruck for a more interactive visit.

The amazing growth and learning continues in all areas as students grow in their own knowledge and confidence. It is such an exciting journey to be part of and so good to see how comfortable the students are in their routine now.

Please continue you wonderful support of home reading and filling in the yellow reader diaries. The students love ticking off nights and achieving awards for different milestones.

Congratulations to Foundation Avery and Foundation Carnovale for the past two weeks Bernie trophy winners and all students who have received awards.
