Captains Corner

By Swanya 6F

What a wonderful term we are undergoing, and we're already halfway through! The last five weeks have been sensational. We have participated in inter-school sports, excursions, and more.

On the 15th of March, the Year Sixes went to Scienceworks to learn more about their new inquiry topic: How does Earth sustain life? At Scienceworks, the Year Sixes visited the planetarium, where they explored which planets have water and where the water is located. We also did hands-on activities and discovered how science is all around us.

I would also like to congratulate Miss Bailey for getting 3rd place in the world for cheerleading. A month ago, Miss Bailey went to Disney World in America, where she attended the World Cheerleading Competition. There, she and her team earned 3rd place for Australia. How wonderful!

Some fortnightly reminders and achievements:

  • Year Sixes attended their weekly inter-school sports competition.
  • The GWPS chess team placed first in the semi-finals.
  • Education Week Open Morning on the 21st May
  • Crazy Hair Day is on the 31st of May.

Can’t wait to see those crazy hairdos!

Thank you for reading this fortnight’s newsletter.
