Thank you to all the BPS students and families for making National Simultaneous Storytime and our BLUE DAY the BEST shade of blue!
There were blue fairies, blue ballerinas, blue birds and many blue sport stars!
We love events at BPS! You could feel and hear the suspense as the LIVE count down began to 12.00pm. Aura Parker made a great introduction to the book and had us all listening attentively to the story. It is a beautiful read, with a poetic play with words and with an educational message about blue satin bowerbirds. This romantic picture story book has an adorable happy ending too!
Ask your child what they learned from this read today!
Come by the front window of the BPS library and view our blue bowerbird's bower!
FYI, Despite the birds using the plastic to their advantage, many are harmed during the process, where pieces can get caught around their head.
Remember to snip off rings from bottle tops!

This CBCA 2024 notable book is a COVID inspired story that is a bright and colourful celebration of the end of lockdown for young children in a tightly packed apartment block. A story of unity as families connected around the world and closer to home to celebrate the small joys and moments of happiness.
Look and read how a community embraced creativity and spirit!
The children came outside to play in the sunshine.
Together with a box of chalk they decorated the concrete pavement into a concrete garden. Smiles and applauds by all who saw. You will notice the children are living and playing together in a microcosm.
This new read connected some students to their neighbourhood friendships and the games they play in their community.
This is a CBCA Notable book!
