District Cross Country

On Wednesday 15th May, 71 students from grades 4-6 competed in the Seaside District Cross Country event at Dendy park. The day started out a little fresh but as the sun shone the grass dried and we were in for some great competitive races.

The day kicked off with the 2KM 9/10 year old events. Both girls and boys races were hotly contested with some close finishes. Congratulations to Isabella Hardenberg (6th) and Clem Oliver (7th) who both placed inside the top ten finishers, enabling them to represent the district at the Kingston Division event.

3KM is the race distance for the 11 year olds and the 12/13 year olds. With the course dried out we were in for some fast and competitive races. Congratulations to Harvey Betts (1st), Finn Thorpe (6th) and Tom Hill (7th) wo have all made it through to the Kingston Division event. Sarah Nguyen placed first in 12.13 MC event, also making it through to represent Seaside district at the Division event.

Brighton primary School finished 6th overall.

Congratulations to all participants!

Kingston Division Cross Country

Following District Cross Country, the students mentioned above competed in the Kingston Division Cross Country event at Karkarook Park.

The weather was perfect for fast times and they were delivered. Clem and Isabelle competed well and finished in the middle of the pack. They both had strong finishes and should be very proud of their efforts.

Finn and Tom both finished just outside the top 10 finishers in a very competitive field. Harvey ran extremely well finishing 6th overall. This secured him a place at the regional event  in Hastings!

Well done to Harvey, Tom and Finn on representing Brighton Primary School.

Interschool Sport Boys Volleyball

We are thrilled to share the exciting news from our Grade 5/6 volleyball team! On Monday, 27th of May, our talented athletes participated in the interschool sport playoffs, aiming for a spot in the district competition. The team faced fierce competition from Beaumauris Primary, Sandringham East, and Beaumauris North Primary.

The final match was incredibly close, but our boys showed exceptional skill and determination, clinching a thrilling victory with a score of 26-24. This hard-fought win has earned them the honor of representing Brighton Primary in the upcoming district competition.

Congratulations to the team on their outstanding performance! We wish you the best of luck and look forward to supporting you as you continue to make us proud.

Go Brighton Primary!
