In the Art Room
We have been very busy this term in the art room. Our students in years 3-6 have created some beautiful Autumn prints using leaves and gelli plates. Have a look at some of their beautiful creations on display in the office.
F1/M has been working on creating texture in different mediums. They have been making Autumn trees using wax crayon and watercolor to create texture on the bark. Followed by using acrylic paint, corks, scrapers, stamps, forks and cardboard to build up the leaf canopy. Keep an eye out for these coming home in school bags today.
Our year 2 students have also completed their leaf rubbings and prints. They used wax crayons and Autumn leaves to create a rubbing, this was followed by an ink wash over the top. The following week we carefully completed leaf prints over the top. These are coming home today.
Belgrave Lantern Parade
Over the coming weeks our students are going to be busy creating their own tissue paper lantern for the Belgrave Lantern Parade. This year we are hoping to represent our wonderful school community in the parade. This is not a school excursion or compulsory event. More details are to come, but we would love to have as many people join us as we can.
If you would like to come into the art room on a Wednesday and help your child work on their lantern, please email me and let me know.
