National Simultaneous Story Time

National Simultaneous Story Time is held annually.

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops, and many other places around the country.

2.8 million children watched the story last year.

On Wednesday our Junior Students joined in with millions of other Australian students across the country to listen to a shared reading of 'Bowerbird Blues', written and illustrated by Aura Parker.

Our Preps, Year Ones, and Twos loved learning about these incredible birds who adore the colour blue. We listened to the author read the book and then watched her draw a bowerbird using shapes.

You can watch the session on the link below:

Our students then enjoyed a craft activity where they told a story about a bowerbird using images.

We are definitely going to purchase a copy or two of Bowerbird Blues for our library.

Kind Regards,
