Sports Wrap Up

By Alexis

This term on Mondays during the second break we play games with Mr Cleary and our sports teacher Mr Gava. The games we play are number soccer, number hockey and lots more as we use our skills and our agility. It is very fun as we work as a team. It is also hard work for Mr Cleary who runs the Sport Club and the sports captains who also help him to set up the games and run them as we rotate in house colours. The first week it is Red House, then Yellow House, and Green House. All of the year levels try their best and they also work out their bodies.

We have two netball teams for Interschool Sports and we have been learning about all the different positions and all the rules. Some people have never played before and they really liked it. We have been doing well and our skills have improved. Everyone has had a chance to play their favourite positions. At lunchtime, we have been practising our skills and we have been umpiring and it really helps people understand how to play the game.

This term Years 5 and 6 have been doing Interschool Sports, Footy and Netball. I am writing about netball. So far we have played Sacred Heart in Sandringham, St Mary’s Hampton, St Mary's Malvern East and Sacred Heart in Sandringham again and this week we are playing St Finbar’s Brighton East. We have won every game except one but that's not what matters most. The thing that matters most is that everybody tries their best and everyone shows incredible sportsmanship and dedication.
