Health & P.E.
As a small part of our health unit for this Term, students from years 3-6 wrote letters to our Olympic and Paralympic heroes competing in the upcoming Paris Olympic Games. Our school is now in the running to win a tour of the VIS in Albert Park. Fingers crossed!
It has been the perfect Autumn weather to start our health and nutrition lessons during P.E. Years 3-6 students are writing letters to our Olympic heroes in preparation for Paris 24’ and F-2 students have been learning all about the Australian guide to healthy eating and nutrition. Fun fact, did you know that Mrs Costa is also a health scientist! The year 2’s used magazines to create a ‘lunchbox’, using the guide. Foundation and year 1 students will use the guide to create a healthy ‘dinner plate’. We learnt about the importance of a healthy and well-balanced diet.
Students in Grade 1 identified actions that help them be healthy, safe, and physically active. They designed their own dinner plate with good food choices. They came up with some delicious and healthy-looking meals! Yum!!
