YEAR 8

WEEK 8: KEY INFORMATION

LAST WEEK

During the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson in Week 7, students looked at a process called Active Constructive Responding. This was a process to support students to develop and maintain strong personal relationships by appreciating and validating other people's good news. Maybe this is something you could practice at the dinner table this week!

THIS WEEK

We have an action-packed week with our awesome Athletics Carnival at Barlow Park on Tuesday. We would love to see all Year 8 students in attendance as a compulsory school day, participating and cheering on their friends. The greater participation the greater points will be generated for the house team. Go, Cahill!

WEEK 8 KEY DATES

WEEK 8 UNIFORM SCHEDULE

The College will run the Tuesday timetable on Monday 3 June with the Athletics Carnival occurring the following day.

The Athletics Carnival will be on Tuesday 4 June at Barlow Park. Students are expected to arrive by 8:25 am with the day concluding at 3:15 pm. House Uniform is to be worn on this day.

LOOKING AHEAD

Spend time with your child over the weekend looking at the assessment due dates to ensure timelines are met. When both students and carers are aware, it can reduce stress and cognitive load on students. If your child is unwell or will miss their assessment please ensure that contact is made with the teacher and/or if need be a medical certificate supplied.

SUBJECT EXPO

Subject Expo for students, parents/carers in Years 8, 9, and 10 will occur on Thursday, 11 July at 4 pm. Parents and students of Years 8, 9 and 10 are expected to attend for information about subject selection and career pathways in 2025.
