An epic week in 1RK

Over the last week, we have been doing lots of amazing learning! We have loved beingable to explore a range of classroom activities. Enjoy reading about what we have been doing in the classroom.

1RK were awarded the 'green thumb' by having the least amount of rubbish, we only had 3 pieces!!

In Numeracy, we introduced division and have been able to learn how to share using hands-on materials. The students have been able to work with a partner, create their own worded problem and then show their working out.

In Literacy, we have been synthesising with a range of different texts. The students have been able to use the mentor text to develop their own understanding of what the text is about, what is happening in the text and learn something from the text. In our Writing sessions, the students have been creating their own problems for a story. It has been amazing and exciting to read aloud their problems and see how creative they can be. We have been learning about the /ow/ sound and have been able to identify this sound in words. The students have been able to create their own snowman display and put their own /ow/ words inside. Thank you to all the parent helpers who have been coming in and helping with the students reading and spelling.

On Friday 18th of August, we were lucky enough to have some special guests come into our classroom and experience some fun experiments and challenges. We had so much fun building the tallest tower, making chatter boxes and drawing with our special guest. Thank you to all the wonderful grandparents and parents who joined us on the day.
