Parent’s Association News – Term 3

The Trivia Night saw 11 colourful tables and over 100 brightly coloured competitors working hard to acquire the 2023 HEPS Trivia crown. Congratulations to the winning black table (ok, not so colourful)! who managed to have the fastest fingers when it came to a range of questions, from identifying song lyrics to knowing an alternative name for a grapefruit.  Twenty lucky bidders are now planning to enjoy their wonderful silent auction goodies and approximately 90 attendees have vowed to do a far better job next year!  Thank you to all the donors, event organisers, attendees and raffle ticket purchasers, who helped make the night a huge success and helped raise funds for our school landscaping works.  Specifically we would like to thank the following organisations for their donations:

Father’s Day Stall – Tuesday 29th August

It’s nearly time for our annual Father’s Day stall where students will have the opportunity to bring up to $10 per child and purchase a small present for their Dad or special person in their life. We would like to invite volunteers from the whole school community to come along for part of the day to help serve the students who visit in class groups to make their purchases.  Volunteering on the stall provides a lovely opportunity to see our children carefully consider their gift choices and practice their maths and money handling skills. All parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, and uncles are welcome and need to hold a Working with Children check. The stall runs from 9am – 4pm and we are looking for helpers to fill the following time slots:

  • 8am (Setup)
  • 9am – 11am
  • 11.30am – 1:00pm
  • 2:00pm – 3:30pm
  • 3:30pm – 4pm (Final sales and packup)

If you are interested in helping out please register your timeslot on the Volunteer Roster at this link: Father’s Day Volunteer Register

Finally, the exciting Footy Day dress up and special lunch will be held on Friday 15th September, the last day of term 3.  We hope that Compass fixes the ordering glitch soon and will let you know when orders are back online.
