Coburg District Athletics

Hola familias, 

Last Wednesday, we had 23 representatives in the Coburg District Athletics. Our young athletes took part on different activities, from sprints to mid-distance races, shot put to discus, long jump, and exhilarating relay races. The collective effort put forth by our students was truly inspiring, underscoring their commitment to their pursuits and the values of teamwork.

I would like to take a moment to acknowledge three outstanding students who secured their places in the top two positions, and therefore qualifying for the prestigious Divisions:

• Florence Thompson demonstrated her powerful running skills by securing 2nd place in the 800-meter race (10 years old category).
• Freddie Macnamara's remarkable performance secured him 2nd place in the long jump (10 years old category). 
• Charlie Fay's amazing throwing skills helped him achieve the 2nd place in shot put (10 years old category).

The acknowledgment continue, with Maya Palacios and Reuben Levy-Vidler demonstrating their skills and securing 3rd place in the Discus (11 years old male and female category). We also celebrate Reuben MP, Freddie, Paxton, and Lennox for their remarkable relay race feat, and Reuben MP and Paxton for making their mark in the finals of the 200m and 100m events.

Our school takes immense pride in each of these dedicated athletes. Their pursuit of excellence serves as a shining example of self-improvement, resilience, and determination. They stand as role models for their peers, embodying the values of dedication and perseverance.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all the parents and families who helped, supported and cheered on our students at the event. Your encouragement makes a big difference!
