Performing Arts News
Students have started completing assessment tasks this week to show off their learning from Term 3 & 4.
Prep students have been acting out “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” as well as performing the words and actions for our version of “I Like The Flowers”. For their dancing performance, students will be practising the dance actions to “Banana Banana Meatball” from GoNoodle. Performing in front of their peers allows students to present their hard work to the class, while also helping their classmates see the results of the Performing Arts skills they have developed this semester.
Grade 1 & 2 students have been introduced to the element of pitch, playing boomwhackers and glockenspiels. Next week they will be using classroom instruments to practise and play a simple song in small groups, showing off their focus and listening skills to their classmates.
Grade 3, 4, 5 & 6 students have been learning the song Frere Jacques for their assessment. It is a challenge to be able to play a different overlaying part of the song while classmates play a different section. This layering requires concentration and familiarity with your part of the music so that you can maintain your part without becoming distracted. We are very proud of our senior students and their efforts working together to be successful when playing and singing Frere Jacques
Below are some photos of Tarneit Rise musicians having a go at playing different pitches using boomwhackers and glockenspiels!
Keep singing and dancing,
Mrs Andrew, Mr Max and Miss G.
