From Garden

to Plate

Last week we had a change of venue for our cooking class. We turned the staffroom into our kitchen!

We had a great time making some gnocchi, which are Italian potato dumplings and some semolina pasta as well.  There was lots of cutting, rolling and pressing as we made different types of pasta. There was flour everywhere!

We made something a little different as well, PESTO.  It had silverbeet and parsley (which was grown in our garden) parmasen cheese, garlic and olive oil. We used the food processor to whizz everything up into a fine paste.

Todays dishes were a little different for many of us but we all tried it none the less.

The picnic on the floor was definitely the highlight of the day! What a way to share a meal on a raining day!
