From the Principal's Desk

Principal News:

Welcome to Week 7!

As we head into the end of term 3, it remains important that your child attends school every single day.  Being at school is the best place for students to learn as well as to keep social connections and build life-long skills.

We understand that families are eager to see and reconnect with loved ones and take a well-deserved break, but please remember that planned travel should only be taken during scheduled school holidays.

Missing a day here or there may not seem like much, but absences add up and can negatively impact your child's learning and wellbeing.  When your child misses one day a week, that’s 40 days of school and 8 weeks of learning in one year.  Over an entire school journey this adds up to 2.5 years of lost learning.  Let's work together to make every day matter.

Last week we celebrated Book Week.  Everyone looked fabulous in their Book Week costumes and we thoroughly enjoyed having parents, grandparents and friends in our school during open classrooms.

We have received the medallions for our Athletics carnival age champions. These will be presented at our school assembly in Week 8.

PAX Word of the Fortnight: Embrace

  • Embrace means to accept something enthusiastically. This week our focus is to embrace differences. How do we EMBRACE differences? Can we;
  • Work in groups or teams
  • Respect other points of view
  • Invite new people to play
  • Learn about each other

Every Day Matters:

  • A boost in confidence, friendships and getting the best out of their education is what happens when students attend school every day. #EveryDayMatters even the days leading up to end of term.

Let's do this together.

Student Success:

Congratulations to Lilly, Tahlia and Aayla who

competed as part of the regional trampoline gymnastics team as well as for the Armidale City Gymnastics Club at the NSW State Championships in Sydney on the weekend. All received medals and met the worlds best tumbling gymnast.

Have a wonderful week!
