From Principal Steve - Planning for 2024

Dear parents and carers,

As we come to the end of another busy term, I would like to acknowledge the hard work and outstanding results that our staff and students have demonstrated in their teaching and learning and how proud we are of them all, and of so many aspects of our school, such as:

  • The commitment and dedication of our wonderful teachers to their students' learning as well as their own professional development
  • The growth of our students in every respect - academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • The health and wellbeing support network we have in place with our Wellbeing Coordinator, School Nurse and Learning Intervention/Support team.
  • Our well-resourced and cared for library and the exciting Book Week celebrations and other literary events we all enjoy.
  • Our Hearing Unit that is an integral part of our school and has helped countless deaf and hearing impaired students across their primary school journey over the years.
  • Our specialist programs – drama, music, choir, the visual arts, PE & interschool sports, and the French program including cultural celebrations
  • Our fantastic parent community. The home-school partnership is so important, and we thank the parents that volunteer to help in the classrooms and at events, as well as our hard-working PFC, whose fundraising activities are so valued.

We have started our planning process for 2024 and have some exciting developments planned for next year including new playgrounds and a new school website.

A very important part of our planning process that we require your assistance with, is our annual Compass Survey - Is your child returning to BPS in 2024?

The survey link can be found from your Compass home page.  It should appear at the top of your News feed with the title: Insights Cycle OpenIf you are accessing Compass on your phone, please open in browser to display the Insight Cycle.  Please note if nothing appears in "My News" it means that you have already completed the Insight.

Please complete this survey by the end of this term - 15th September.  Note that there is an "Unsure" option to select if you are unsure and waiting on an enrolment application at another school. Please email the office at brighton.ps@education.vic.gov.au if your situation changes.

We thank you for your assistance.

With best wishes,

Steve
