This week’s Superhero Award is proudly presented to a student who consistently embodies our school values of Pride and Excellence.
Adelia is a calm, focused learner who approaches every task with a quiet maturity and a genuine desire to achieve her personal best.
Whether tackling a complex task or exploring new ideas, Adelia demonstrates outstanding problem-solving skills and a true curiosity for learning.
What sets Adelia apart is her incredible ability to remain concentrated and dedicated to her work, even when faced with distractions. She doesn’t just complete her work; she embraces challenges with an adventurous spirit and a growth mindset, always looking for ways to extend her knowledge and respond to feedback with enthusiasm.
Beyond her academic achievements, Adelia is a positive, caring, and cheerful member of our school community. She shows great respect for the opinions and beliefs of others. Whether in the classroom or on the playground, she is a loyal friend who interacts with others with kindness and grace.
For her resilience, her initiative, and her unwavering commitment to doing her best, we are thrilled to recognise this exceptional Grade 2 student. Congratulations to this student
Congratulations to Adelia from Studio 1 on being such a wonderful role model of our school values, we hope you've had a great week.

The Superhero this week is being awarded this certificate for the school values of Respect and Care. Lettie is a kind and considerate person, always looking out for others and happy to lend a hand and help explain something if they don’t quite understand the task.
Lettie has settled into the new year with ease, and a mature attitude even beyond her years. She speaks respectfully to her teacher, her classmates and the school community, using manners such as ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ when speaking.
Lettie contributes to the classroom discussions, by raising her hand and sharing her thoughts so that others can also learn by hearing different perspectives.
This firecracker of a student has a smile that welcomes the day and all that it brings. She demonstrates a resilient and adventurous learning disposition with her ‘can do’ attitude. A year 5 student, Lettie said that she would like to live in South Africa to experience the culture and her family connection and if she doesn’t make it as a professional soccer player, an actress would be fine. She has ambition, so you never know…maybe she will achieve all these things.
We are so lucky to have this student from Studio 12 in our class. Congratulations Lettie!

Working Bee 15/03/2026
Our first working bee of the year is on Sunday 15th March from 10 am.
Our working bees are a fun opportunity for families that are new to the school to mix and mingle with the school community. We’re especially excited to invite families of foundation students along to this event to begin work on building an outdoor classroom in the junior area (next to the kinder carpark and building). It’s a chance for you to help create a practical, beautiful, and fun space for this year’s foundation students and leave a legacy for the future. I can’t wait to see this otherwise wasted space put to good use.
There will be a range of tasks including basic carpentry, landscaping, moving soil and mulch, weeding and other small maintenance jobs.
Lunch is provided by the P&F to feed the hungry workers (BYO beverages). Children are welcome on the understanding that you take full responsibility for their supervision and wellbeing. Can’t make it at 10? Need to leave early? That’s fine, even an hour of your time can make a big difference.
The school has a limited number of tools, so please bring along any of your own that you are happy to use. Wheelbarrows, shovels and garden forks, weeding tubs, trowels, secateurs and the like are all very handy. Don’t forget your gardening gloves and anything else you need to stay safe and comfortable.
See you there

20% Uniform Sale at Lowes
Lowes is holding a 20% off 5 day sale this week from March 4th - 8th.
Shop online or visit a store to take advantage of the sale to purchase uniform.
For items that are out of stock, families can go into store and ask staff to use the “Notify Me” system. This will ensure you receive the 20% off when the item becomes available for collection.
Head Lice Reminder
We have recently had a number of reported cases of head lice across the school. Head lice are a common occurrence in primary schools and can spread easily through close contact.
We ask all families to please check their child’s hair regularly, particularly behind the ears and at the nape of the neck. If you find live lice or eggs, please begin treatment promptly using your preferred method.
It is very important to repeat the treatment seven days after the first application. This follow-up treatment helps to kill any newly hatched lice and prevents re-infestation. Missing the second treatment is one of the main reasons head lice return.
We appreciate your support in checking and treating promptly, as this helps minimise the spread within our school community.
Lost Property Reminder
We still have a large number of items in our lost property. We encourage families to take a moment to check if any of these items belong to their child.
Lost property is located next to the canteen and is accessible during school hours. To help ensure items are returned to their owners, we kindly remind families to ensure all uniform items and belongings are clearly labelled with their child’s name.
Thank you for your support in helping us keep lost property manageable!
Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund (CSEF) applications
The Camps, Sports and Excursions Fund helps eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps and sporting activities.
If you have a valid means-tested concession card, such as a Veterans Affairs Gold Card, Centrelink Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card, or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible. There is also a special consideration category for asylum seeker and refugee families.
Payment amounts this year are $400 for eligible primary school students. Payments are made direct to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions and sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
If you have previously applied for CSEF through our school last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year, unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.
If you would like to apply for the first time, please complete the attached form or call the office to request a form.
Please return completed forms to the school office as soon as possible. A copy of the form is attached below. We will require a copy of your valid health care card with the application.

If your child requires medication at school, a medication authority form needs to be completed and medication to be brought to the office to be stored safely. A first aid officer will be assigned to administer the medication. Students should not carry medication in their school bags.
Please inform the office if there are any changes to your child’s medical needs so the appropriate paperwork can be completed and procedures put in place to care for your child
Uniform Ordering
Uniform can be purchased in-store from Lowes in Lansell Square in Kangaroo Flat. Orders can also be placed online at www.lowes.com.au. Please see the pricelist below
Students Arriving Late
Students arriving late to school should come to the office, accompanied by an adult, and sign in either on the Compass Kiosk or in the late book. They will then be issued a late pass to take to class and their arrival at school will be updated on the roll. This will avoid parents/guardians receiving notification that their child is not at school when they have arrived late.
Early Collection of Students from School
We understand that there are many reasons why you might need to collect students from school early, however, we ask that you please keep these to a minimum where possible.
Our school PA system works by buildings so when an announcement is made it will be heard throughout the whole building and the closest relocatable classroom. These announcements are very disruptive especially when some days announcements are being made on numerous occasions within short periods. These disruptions have an impact on student learning.
We ask for your assistance with some strategies to assist with this matter:
- Email the teacher and the office early in the day with the time you will be collecting your child/ren so we can, hopefully, have them waiting at the office for you.
- When possible, collect your child just before recess (11 – 11:40am) or lunchtime (1:40 – 2:20pm) rather than during the middle of class times.
- Announcements for collecting children will not be made during class time. If you need to collect your child during class time please come to the office to sign your child/ren out as an early departure and then go to the classroom to collect them.
We understand there can be emergency situations, however, we hope you will give your support and enable all children to receive as much learning as possible.
School Gates and Opening Times
Our school gates open at 8:45am each day with classes commencing at 9am. School grounds can be accessed via the Edgecombe St pedestrian gate, the kindergarten ramp and the back gate at the bottom of our basketball courts. Please DO NOT use the staff car park or stairs to access the school.
Accessing Compass
Compass is our main way of communicating with our families. It is important that parents access the Parental Portal in Compass at https://kynetonps.vic.jdlf.com.au
Using our parent portal will enable you to –
- View up-to-date class and school attendance information
- Approve or enter upcoming or past absences for your son/daughter
- Update your registered email and mobile number (used for SMS alters)
- Access information regarding upcoming events and news
- Access your child’s Semester Reports
- Book your Parent/Student/Teacher conferences
We encourage families to download the Compass App and to enable notification to ensure you receive all communications.
Please click on the “Welcome to Compass” booklets for further assistance or contact the office.
Carpark Safety
We would like to address some important safety concerns regarding carpark use, and we kindly ask for your cooperation.
Kindergarten Carpark
Please do not park in the kindergarten carpark. This carpark is reserved exclusively for kindergarten families. If you have both kindergarten and school-aged children and need to park there, please ensure you use the ramp to access the school grounds.
Please also note that the large gate at the end of the kindergarten car park and the school is locked and should not be used to access the school — children should not be lifted over the gate under any circumstances.
School Carpark
The school carpark has vehicles moving in and out throughout the day. For safety reasons, we ask that pedestrians do not use the stairs near the flag poles and then walk through the carpark as a shortcut. The designated ramp or steps are to be used when entering or exiting the school.
Thank you for your support in helping keep all members of our school and kindergarten community safe.
