Specialist Feature News - Welcome Back

你 好 (ni hao) to our wonderful community!

We have all enjoyed our start back in the Specialist centre, covering the Start Up program where we explored the school values and expectations across all five specialists.

Looking ahead for 2026, the art room will be a busy space as we create artworks to fill our amazing art show in term 4! This week our Junior students have started to learn about a new artist, Vincent Van Gogh. They explored examples of his work before creating their own oil pastel sunflower works, inspired by his famous painting.

The year 3/4 student enjoyed starting their art lesson outside in the woodlands area of the school, sketching trees for reference as they began learning about negative space. Keeping with the nature theme, our 5/6 students have started exploring Southwestern Native American Pottery which they are using for inmspiration for some bright, colourful watercolour cactus artworks.
