Parents & Friends Association News

Welcome to Term 1 đ
The Parents & Friends Association would like to warmly welcome all families back for another fantastic school year!
Â
New Year, New Roles â¨
As we kick off the term, weâd like to acknowledge a few role changes within the PFA.
A huge thank you to Jackie Dredge and Jess Pinal as they step down from their roles as Co-Presidents. Your time, energy, and commitment have made a real difference to our school community.
Ineke King is excited to take on the role of President, with Jess Pinal continuing as Vice President. Weâre also pleased that Jackie Dredge will remain part of the PFA in a supporting capacity while she focuses on her new role on the School Council.
And a special mention to Louise Gorrie, who continues to do an amazing job in Marketing & Communications. Those brilliant flyers donât create themselves!Â
Â
We also extend our thanks to:
⢠Jess Brook and Jamie Lee who has stepped down from their supporting roles.
⢠Lyn Harrison, who has transitioned from Health & Safety Liaison to focus only Breakfast Club.
Â
To all of our volunteers â thank you for the many hours you give to help create such wonderful experiences for our school community.
Â
Join the PFAâ¨
Weâre currently looking for new members to take on primary roles with in the PFA.Â
We pride ourselves on being flexible and understanding that everyoneâs availability is different. While we donât expect perfect attendance, itâs important to know that involvement usually requires more than just what you see on event day.Â
Â
What does commitment to our primary roles look like?
Â
Food Days (like Donut Day) Typically 2â4 hours at school to sort and deliver orders (usually once per term). Plus, a few hours of planning, health and safety and food collection.
Â
Larger Events: Including Motherâs Day, Fatherâs Day & Colour Run â these involve planning, setup, running the event, and pack-up.Â
Â
Weâre currently seeking committed regular volunteers for:
A Health & Safety Role: Helping complete safety risk assessments for events in collaboration with the school.
A Community Donations Role: Sourcing donations from local businesses for our raffles and collecting gift cards from Coles & Woolworths each month.Â
Â
As well as attending our regular monthly meetings. Were we discuss and plan our future fundraising activities and goals.
Â
If these roles donât suit your schedule, thatâs absolutely fine, we always welcome event-day helpers, with sign-up sheets shared on Facebook 1â2 weeks prior.
If youâd like to get involved, weâd love to hear from you: 4755-pfa@school.vic.edu.au
