Principal's Message

Dear Parents, 

OPENING SCHOOL LEADERSHIP MASS

Our school community gathered last Friday for our Opening School Leadership Mass, a meaningful way to begin the year by placing our hopes and efforts in God’s hands. Together, we reflected on the many blessings that surround us, our students, families, staff, and parish community who help make St Aidan’s a place of growth and belonging.

I encouraged our students to approach the year with courage and curiosity, remembering that every challenge is an opportunity to grow. The students were also reminded of the Brigidine Charism that guides our community: Compassion, Respect, Justice, Forgiveness, and Charity. We reflected on this year’s Sydney Catholic Schools theme, “Trust in the Lord for True Peace and Strength”. A theme that calls us to live with faith, kindness and support for one another in our daily actions.

At the end of Mass our Year 6 Leaders were presented with their 2026 Leadership Badges. They were reminded that true leadership is about integrity, service and lifting others up. We congratulate our new leaders and look forward to the positive impact they will make.

With faith as our foundation, we look ahead with hope and confidence for the year to come.

MAGIS 2033 STRATEGIC LAUNCH

On Tuesday 24 February, our Leadership Team had the privilege of attending the official launch of Magis 2033 at Waterview, Homebush. This inspiring strategic vision sets the direction for Sydney Catholic Schools over the next seven years, grounded in a deep commitment to faith, excellence and service.

The launch reaffirmed our shared Mission to provide a Catholic Education that is faith filled, academically excellent, and accessible to all. We were guided through the Vision of forming the whole person, mind, heart and spirit while nurturing a love of truth, beauty and goodness.

Magis 2033 is shaped by three core Values:

• Wonder – cultivating curiosity and seeing God in all things

• Wisdom – seeking understanding through faith and reason

• Witness – living compassionately and authentically in service to others

We also explored the Ways of Proceeding: Discernment, Service and Accountability which will guide decision making and leadership across our schools.

The strategy focuses on three key areas:

• Integral Formation for Human Excellence

• Schooling Excellence Accessible to All

• Stewardship Excellence for Mission

These priorities will unfold across three Strategic Horizons from 2026 to 2033, with regular reflection points, to ensure our schools continue to grow as vibrant centres of learning, faith and hope.

It was a privilege to represent our community at this significant event and we look forward to bringing the spirit of Magis 2033 into our daily work with students and families.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Next week we are celebrating Catholic Schools Week. This year we celebrate through the lens of Magis 2033, Sydney Catholic Schools’ new mission inviting our students to grow in Wonder, Wisdom and Witness. 

Together, we are helping our children become young people of purpose, hope and heart.
