Visual Arts

From the Visual Arts room.
Foundation
In the artroom, students enjoyed the text 'The Day the Crayons Quit'.
As a group, students discussed the colours in the story and then went on to make their own coloured crayon. Students use glue sticks and paint sticks to create their crayon and added expression with white paper and black markers.
Grades 1 and 2
Students have been discussing primary and secondary colours. Each student used paint to create their own coloured icy pole by mixing red and yellow to make orange, blue and red to make purple and blue and yellow to make green.
The icy poles were then cut out and an icy pole stick was added. On a hot day, some of the icy poles were even dripping!
Grades 3 and 4
Students completed their artwork to depict the Acknowledgment of Country used in their classroom. Students used grey lead pencils, fine line pens, permanent markers and poster paint. Students developed skills in adding just enough water to the paint to create the desired effect.
Grades 5 and 6
Students completed their artwork to depict the Acknowledgment of Country used in their classroom. Students used grey lead pencils, fine line pens, permanent markers and poster paint. Students developed skills in adding just enough water to the paint to create the desired effect.
Just take a moment to ....
grab some food dye, paint or chalk and mix some colours.
Apply the colour to paper and think of a wonderful word to describe the created colour.
