Grade 4 News

Dear Year 4 Families,
Welcome to 2026!
We are excited to be here and it has been wonderful to see so many keen students engage with the mostly brand new Year 4 team.
We have started the year with ensuring consistency in routines across the four classrooms in English, Mathematics, Humanities and Social and Emotional Learning. In English, we have dived into nouns, prefixes and suffixes and begun our Literature unit on Storm Boy. In Mathematics, we have started with Place Value and will learn all about Angles later in the term. In Humanities, we are exploring World Rivers as well as developing specific vocabulary related to this Geography unit. In Social and Emotional Learning, after the Summer holidays, we are learning to work collaboratively again, be mindful of ourselves and recognise our own emotions.
Please remind your child to bring a hat each day in term 1 as well as their reading satchel and student diary.
Our main point of contact is Compass, however please ring the office if you need to get a send a message to your child during a school day.
If you have any questions please see your child's teacher, or any of us in the Year 4 Team.
