FOUNDATION NEWS

Last week we started InitiaLit, our whole class reading and writing program. We began with an introduction to rhyme and this week we are learning about syllables and reading a favourite rhyming text, The Very Cranky Bear. It has been fantastic to see so much creativity as the children develop their fine motor skills and craft their own Cranky Bear.

Reminders:

• Please send along your child's blue reader satchel and art smock ASAP. These are needed for our weekly library sessions and Art class.
• Please clearly label school jumpers, drink bottles and containers with your child's first and last name.

YEAR 1 NEWS

The excitement is building as the Year One students begin planning their very own narratives. They have been exploring story ideas and thinking about characters and settings, and we can’t wait to see their creative stories come to life when they start writing them next week!
