STUDENT DRESS CODE
Our dress code policy available on our website includes:
Brief shorts and athletic shorts are only worn for sport.
Shoulder length or longer hair is to be tied back to help restrict the spread of lice and for student safety. Student hair must be of natural colour.
Polo Shirt. Short /or green long sleeve (P-2) or navy (3-6) polo shirt with school logo.
Skorts. Plain navy skorts without decoration or brand name.
Pants. Plain, navy blue track pants without decoration or brand name.
Socks or tights/stockings. Navy blue or white socks. Navy blue tights/stockings.
Dresses. Summer blue and white checked dress.
Shorts. Plain navy blue without decoration or brand name.
Hats. Navy broadbrim.
Ensure all clothing and hats are clearly labelled with student's name.
Nearly every child has been wearing a hat outside, which is terrific. However, some students are wearing brief/athletic shorts outside of sport and hair longer than shoulder length not tied up. Please ensure your child complies with our policy. More information about our Student Dress Code can be found in another section of this newsletter.
ASSEMBLIES
This term we will have three Assemblies, all welcome. The dates and times are:
Friday 20/2 from 2.30pm - 3.00pm in the gym. Some Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 students will share their learning.
Friday 20/3 from 2.30pm - 3.00pm in the gym. Some Prep, Year 2, Year 4 and Ye6 students will share their learning.
Thursday 2/4 from 9.15am - 10.00am outside (weather permitting). This is our end of term Assembly and Easter Hat parade.
MEET THE TEACHER CONVERSATIONS

ASTHMA/ANAPHYLAXIS
Thanks to those parents/carers of students with Anaphylaxis/Asthma for providing us with an updated plan provided by their GP. If you haven’t had a chance to do this yet, please do so ASAP.
SOMERS CAMP (10th - 18th March, Years 5 & 6)
On Tuesday we pulled names out of a hat to determine who attends this camp. These four girls and six boys were provided with various forms to be completed and returned to the school by Friday 13th February (today).
NAPLAN (11th - 23th March, Years 3 & 5)
All students in Grade 3 and 5 will sit the tests in coming weeks.
SCHOOL PHOTOS (3rd March)
Like every day, all students are expected to wear full school uniform. More information will be sent to parents/carers shortly.
GRADE 3-6 HOUSE ATHLETICS AT LANDY FIELD (6th March)
To be held at Landy Field in Geelong, with parents welcome to attend. Please see the Sports section of this newsletter and Compass for more information.
NO WRAPPERS OUTSIDE
One of the focus areas for Term 1 is ‘no wrappers outside’ and the students have started well. Here are two amazing citizens of our school community, Alfie and Jaz, cleaning up some stray wrappers, but generally the school grounds have been significantly cleaner. Parents/carers, please encourage healthy nude food and help our students to keep our school grounds neat and tidy. Thanks to all who have spoken to their children about this already - keep up the great work!
SCHOOL COUNCIL
Earlier this week the following information was distributed via Compass. All government schools in Victoria have a School Council. They are legally formed bodies that help to set the key directions of a school within centrally provided Department of Education guidelines. The term of office for all members is two years. Evening meetings are held regularly with nominated school council representatives. Nomination forms will be available from the Office for the 2026 Council from Wednesday 11th February. The close of nominations will be 9.00am Wednesday 18th February. There are four, two-year parent/carer positions open for nomination. Where there are more than four nominations an election process will be held.
The timeline is as follows:
11th February: Call for nominations. Nomination forms can be collected from the office.
18th February: Nominations close (9.00am).
If nominations do not exceed vacancies, the new council will be formed.
If nominations exceed vacancies, the list of candidates and nominators will be posted.
18th February: Distribute ballot papers.
25th February: Close of ballot (3.00pm), count votes and inform the school community of the outcomes of the election.
25th February: New school council Annual General Meeting at 6.00pm at the school.
