Spotlight on Learning

Bethlehem Community

Dear Families & Friends,

We are flying through Term One! Can you believe we are already in Week 4?

This week we marked the beginning of Lent with our Ash Wednesday service. The students did an exceptional job participating reverently at the church and demonstrated great respect throughout the service. It was wonderful to see them engage so thoughtfully in this important time of reflection in our Catholic calendar.

Thank you to the families who were able to join us. Your presence and support are always greatly appreciated.

We look forward to continuing this meaningful Lenten journey together as a school community.

English – Writing

In English, students are learning about the key features of a persuasive text and how to effectively compose their own persuasive pieces. They are exploring how to structure an argument, use persuasive language techniques and support their opinions with clear reasons and evidence.

Mathematics – Order of Operations

In Mathematics, we have continued working on operations and developing our understanding of how numbers interact. Students have been using a “function machine” to solve equations, helping them recognise patterns and understand how inputs and outputs are connected.

Intergrated Studies – Mobility

In Integrated Studies, students have been learning about the importance of mobility for Indigenous Australians. They explored how seasonal changes and weather patterns influenced where groups would move, as well as how this movement determined the types of food available to them.

Important Reminders

  • If you have not already done so, please ensure the ICT Agreement has been signed and returned. Students will be unable to use digital technology at school until this is completed.
  • Return permission forms for the swimming lessons in week 6 and 7 and Kingswim.
  • Please make sure all uniform items are clearly labelled with your child’s name using a black marker to help prevent items from being misplaced.

Thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,
