Italian Update

BUONGIORNO!
Salve a tutti! (Hello everyone!).
Firstly, to all the new parents at St Fidelis Primary School…Benvenuti, (Welcome) to our school community. Let me introduce myself…mi chiamo signora Rosa. I have the pleasure of teaching your child/ren italiano for an hour each week here at St Fidelis Primary School. I hope to meet you during this coming week at the Parent Meet and Greet, or throughout the year sometime. To all the returning families…Bentornati, (Welcome back)!
My Italian teaching goal is to create a rich linguistic setting whereby language and culture are intertwined in a fun, enjoyable and meaningful way.
Your child/ren will be engaged in Italian language learning through songs, stories, games and simple conversations, just to name a few activities.
This year, I will be at the school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
As usual, throughout the year I will be including items in this newsletter, informing parents what each year level is/has been learning about in italiano, as well as any extra news in relation to Italian happenings both at the school, or around the world. Just like at the moment with the Olimpiadi Invernali 2026, (Winter Olympics) that are taking place in Milano / Cortina. I will be covering more about this with the grade 5/6 ‘s over the next few weeks. I certainly was glued to my televisione (TV) early sabato mattina (Saturday morning), watching la Cerimonia di Apertura, (Opening Ceremony). In bocca al lupo Australia e Italia!! 🥇🥈🥉
Until next time…buona settimana a tutti! (Have a good week everyone).
Signora Rosa 🌹
