Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

The staff of the Brunswick Moreland Catholic Community (BMCC) came together to begin the school year with a Mass hosted by Our Lady's Help Of Christians (OLHC )last week as a way of grounding our year in faith, unity, and shared purpose. The Mass was celebrated  by Fr Brendan and Fr, Tien, and gave us the opportunity to reflect, give thanks, and ask for guidance as we embark on the year  ahead. Beginning the year in this way strengthened the connection between our school communities and reminded us of the values that guide our learning, relationships, and service to others.

Parent/Carer & Teacher Meet & Greet -Tues 10th, Wed 11th & Thurs 12th

The purpose of the parent teacher meet and greet at the beginning of the year is to give teachers a chance to get to know students beyond academics. It’s an opportunity for parents to share insights about their child’s interests, strengths, personality, and any important background that can help create a supportive and engaging learning environment. School will finish at 3:30pm as usual.

Join Us for Our First Parents & Friends Meeting – Tonight at 7:00pm

We are excited to welcome back our wonderful Parents & Friends committee and extend a warm invitation to new members to join us tonight at 7:00pm  in the school staff room.

Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, every helping hand makes a difference. The Parents & Friends committee has always been a fantastic team at St. Fidelis filled with generous, talented, and friendly people who work together to create amazing events for our school community.

Last year the P&F raised an incredible amount of funds that will go toward a playground for the senior students in the near future. We can’t wait to see you there!

Learning Focus 2026

In 2026, St Fidelis will continue the work of our School Improvement Plan (2025–2028). Guided by our Strategic Intent, this plan supports our Vision and Mission and helps shape everyday life at our school. Our current focus is on strengthening learning and teaching so that students have a strong voice and are active participants in their learning. Working closely with families and our wider community, we are committed to living our Catholic faith through action, mission and justice, ensuring our rich traditions continue to guide the way we care for and educate our students.

Priority One: To strengthen the St. Fidelis Learning and Teaching Framework and pedagogical approaches.

Intended Outcomes:

All students demonstrate a continued growth in numeracy and literacy

Teachers will use shared teaching approaches so that learning is consistent, engaging, and supports every child to do their best

Students will experience high-quality learning that helps them build confidence, skills, and a love of learning

Priority Two: To deepen our understanding of Christ and Catholic Social Teaching for the learners of today.

Intended Outcomes:

Students will learn more about Jesus and how His teachings help them make kind, fair, and caring choices each day.Children will understand how our Catholic values guide the way we treat others and look after our world.

Priority Three: To further enhance student agency, voice, and wellbeing across the school.

Intended Outcomes:

Students will feel confident sharing their ideas, making choices in their learning, and knowing their voice matters.

Children will feel safe, supported, and cared for at school, helping them to grow in confidence and wellbeing.

Whole School Prayer & Assembly

At St Fidelis, we have two whole school assemblies weekly. Monday and Friday mornings. The main purpose of the school assembly is to develop a feeling of unity among all the students, teachers and parents. It is a gathering of all members of our school for different purposes.  In 2026, we will have two school assemblies per week,

In the warmer months the Monday morning assembly will take place outdoors. This is a short assembly led by our School Leaders which includes praying our School Prayer, the singing of the National Anthem and communicating any reminders for the week.

Our Friday Whole School Prayer is a longer assembly where each class will be allocated a week to prepare a short liturgy for the school community, students of the week are presented, learnings from The Resilience project are shared with the community and announcements.  All parents are encouraged to join us on  Friday Morning.

Friday February 13th  at 8:50am  will be our first whole school assembly. It will be led by the School Leaders
