Work Experience Students at CPS in 2026
Each year we have a number of Year 10 students from local secondary schools who contact us looking for a Work Experience placement at our school. This is a part of the Year 10 curriculum for many secondary schools and allows students to experience careers they may wish to explore in their future careers. During their Work Experience, students spend a week at our school working alongside teachers in classrooms and specialist areas to get an idea of the reality of our profession.
Often the students who contact us are previous CPS students and it is lovely to see them back again and hear about their experiences at secondary school. We try our best to accommodate our past students as a first priority and also accept a small number of non-CPS students, in particular those who are studying of have an interest in French.
To share the load of Work Experience supervision, Joanna creates a timetable for each student where they will be allocated to a different teacher each day of the week that they are here. Each teacher will be allocated once over the year, meaning that you will not be asked for more than one day of supporting a Work Experience student per year (unless you would like more, in which case, please let us know!) While the students are with you, you can ask them to do any reasonable duties you wish (e.g. organising/ creating resources, helping students with tasks, listening to reading etc), mindful that as they are still students themselves they are under your supervision and do not have duty of care.
If there are any specific days this year (other than those already entered on the Compass Calendar) when you could NOT support a work experience student, please let Joanna know. Otherwise Joanna will be in touch with you closer to the time when our Work Experience students arrive!

La compétition des illustrations d’une vire-langue (années 3-6)
Un rappel que la date limite pour rendre les illustrations c'est vendredi prochain (le 13 mars). J'espère que tous les élèves se sont amusés!
S.V.P. choisit les 2 meilleures illustrations de chaque classe (p.ex. 2 en 5A, 2 en 5B et 2 en 5C) et envoie-moi une photo ce jour-là (le 13 mars) au plus tard pour que je puisse les envoyer à KHPS avant lundi le 16 mars.
