Principal’s Message

Dear parents and carers,
Reading continues to be a primary focus for all students at Sacred Heart. To improve reading balance, skills and fluency, our students engage with texts daily at their specific instructional level. This targeted approach ensures every child is challenged just enough to grow without feeling overwhelmed.
A huge congratulations to the students who have made time to read at home each week! Our Super Zooper Dooper Readers are always so excited to return their reading journals each Friday and share their progress. Reading at home for even 10–15 minutes a day makes a significant impact on a child's vocabulary and confidence. Thank you for supporting your child with this.
Over the past two weeks students in Years 3 and 5 participated in NAPLAN. This nationwide assessment provides a "point-in-time" snapshot of how students are progressing in the essential skills of reading, writing, language conventions, and numeracy. While we want our students to do their best, it is important to remember that NAPLAN is just one of many assessments we use to monitor progress.
WELCOME MRS FRANKLIN
This week we welcomed Mrs Nicola Franklin to Sacred Heart School. Mrs Fanklin will be teaching in K-2 this year and has already spent time getting to know the students. We can't wait to get to know her and for her to share her love of learning with our Sacred Heart Community.
KINDERGARTEN TRANSITION PROGRAM
Our Little Stars Transition Program began with much excitement on Friday, March 13th. It is with pleasure that we welcome these children and their families into our school community and we look forward to seeing their smiles each Friday.
There are a number of events coming up before the end of the term. Please check the calendar as we would love to have you join us.
Warm regards,
Leanne Herden
Principal
