Principal's Message
Words from the College Principal, Issue 2, Term 1, 2026.
Assalamualaikum warahmatullah wabarakatuh.
Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
Alhamdulillah, as we wrap up the final week of Term 1, I reflect fondly on how it has been a truly special close to what has been a wonderful term.
From the conclusion of the blessed month of Ramadan to many meaningful events and academic milestones, our students have continued to demonstrate the values, dedication, and community spirit that make ICOM such a special place.
As Ramadan drew to a close, we were deeply pleased to witness the spirit of the holy month alive and well across both our Primary and Secondary communities. Our Primary students had a beautiful Iftar Night, bringing families and staff together in a warm and memorable evening of shared reflection and community. Similarly, our Secondary students gathered for their own Iftar, and the Year 12 Boys attended the Ramadan Qiyam Night, both meaningful occasions that provided an opportunity to break their fast together and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood within ICOM.
May Allah (SWT) accept from us all and reward every student, staff member, and family who observed this blessed month.
Our students across both campuses also sat their NAPLAN assessments this term. We commend all students for the focus, maturity, and effort they brought to this important period, and our dedicated staff for their continued support.
Beyond academics, our students have also enjoyed a wonderful range of co-curricular experiences in these final weeks of term. Our Foundation students delighted staff and families alike with their annual Teddy Bear Picnic; an adorable occasion that brought so much joy and warmth to our Primary campus. Meanwhile, students across Primary and Secondary school represented ICOM with pride and sportsmanship at the Interschool Sports events, showcasing their athleticism, teamwork, and school spirit. We are incredibly proud of all students who participated and commend them for their enthusiasm and dedication both on and off the field.
The final week of term brought with it two very anticipated events on our school calendar. Our Eid Festival was a truly joyous occasion, filled with laughter, festivities, and a wonderful sense of togetherness as we celebrated the conclusion of Ramadan with our entire school community. It was a beautiful reminder of the gratitude and joy that Eid al-Fitr brings, and we are so grateful to all staff and families who made the day so special.
Alhamdulillah, both our Primary and Secondary students once again rose to the occasion through our Orphan Sponsorship Program, demonstrating exceptional generosity and compassion for those less fortunate. It is truly heartwarming to witness our students embrace this important initiative year after year, and we are incredibly proud of the collective effort put forward. May Allah (SWT) reward each contributor abundantly and place barakah in their efforts.
Adding to the excitement of the final week, we were proud to see a number of our students and staff participate in the World's Greatest Shave to support our Orphan Sponsorship program. I extend our sincerest admiration to all who took part in this lively event.
Rounding out the term was our Multicultural Day, this year celebrating Islam in Europe with a focus on the Muslims of the Balkans. It was an educational celebration that deepened our students' understanding of the global Muslim community and the diverse cultures that make up our ummah. Adding to the festivities, students from the Primary and Secondary winning classes from Orphan Sponsorship took part in a spirited Students Vs. Staff Tug of War competition, bringing plenty of energy, laughter, and friendly competition to the day. I am incredibly proud to see such enthusiasm and engagement from students of all ages, and it was a memorable conclusion to Term 1.
As we reflect on all that has been achieved over the course of this term, I am filled with immense gratitude and pride for our students, staff, and families. Term 1 has been a term of spiritual growth, academic effort, and genuine community spirit, and I have no doubt that our students will carry these experiences with them well beyond the classroom.
I wish all our families a restful and joyful break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back for what promises to be another enriching term ahead, insha Allah.
May Allah (SWT) continue to guide, protect, and bless the ICOM community, and we return to Term 2 as enthusiastic and fresh as ever. Ameen.
