OSHClub News

Staffing update:

I have been promoted as Service Manager for one of the busiest services in Victoria, where most of the afternoons more than 90 children attend the program. After my planned holidays from 12th August to 30th August, I will be working full on with my new role but will still be supporting the MPRPS team. I would also like to share that Sophie Ogilvie will be taking over my position at Mount Pleasant Road OSHClub. The families who have been using the service during the school holidays are familiar with Sophie, as she has been working with us over the last 2 school holiday programs. She has also done her teaching placement at MPRPS and will be doing her next placement at the end of August also at Mount Pleasant Road Primary School. Please find her staff bio below:

Sophie Ogilvie

Qualifications:

First Aid, CPR, Working towards Bachelor of Education (Primary)

About me:

Prior to working at MPRPS, I worked at OSHClub at Laburnum and Park Orchards. I love working with children because I love getting to know all about their hobbies and getting to share my hobbies too. Working with kids is really fulfilling as I get to see them grow up and become kind young people.

My Favourite Activities:

I enjoy playing different sports with children, including basketball, tennis, football and cricket. Cooking is also one of my favourite activities. I like to cook healthy treats and trying different foods from across the world.

Fun Fact:

I have bungee jumped in Queensland!

Reminder to book in your children for Term 3

Exciting Updates:

More Convenient Booking Options: We know that there are times when you need to book a session for your children at short notice. You can now make bookings using your Kidsoft Parent Portal right up until the session start time for a before school Rise then Shine session, and up until 8 hours prior to the session start time for an after school Stay and Play session, and 48 hours prior to a Holiday HQ session. Bookings may be available outside these times by contacting the service or Customer Experience team via phone.

Parent Portal Waitlist: We also know that there are times when the sessions you want to book aren’t available and to assist with this we now have a waitlist built-in to the casual booking system! You will be able to add your child to the waitlist for these bookings, and when a spot becomes available, your waitlist booking will automatically convert and you will be notified via SMS and email.

Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Updates: Increases to the CCS income thresholds and hourly rate cap effective from July 1 mean that families may notice a reduction in out-of-pocket gap fees on your statement.

Important Reminders:

Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Balancing: As we commence the new financial year, it's crucial that you have completed the necessary balancing requirements with Centrelink to maintain your child care subsidies and entitlements.

Centrelink's CCS Absence Limit has reset: Centrelink will only pay the CCS to a maximum of 42 absences each financial year. Centrelink's absence limit is resetting for the new financial year. This reset means that you now have a renewed allocation of up to 42 allowable absences per child for the current financial year, starting from July 1.

Term 3 Bookings: Have you secured your Term 3 bookings? Click here to review and book using your Kidsoft Parent Portal

Please remember to book in your child/ren for Term 3. As you all are aware that in this industry to ensure safety of children we need to follow 1 staff to 15 children ratio at all times and 1 staff to 11 children ratio on the days when Kinder children attend. At times we are sitting at the capacity and even though we want to support families if they have missed out booking their child in due to their busy schedule, unfortunately we cannot take any extra children. If we are informed in the morning by 9 am if you will need to use the service, we can definitely help you by organising extra staff to cover additional ratio.

We are committed to providing the best possible activities and education for your children and look forward to the opportunities the new financial year brings. Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Together, let's make this next financial year one of learning and joy for all!

Thanks and Regards,

The OSHClub Team
