Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion

Catholic students in Year 3 have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Penance for the first time and to make their First Holy Communion.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be on Wednesday 21st August

and First Holy Communion will be held on Sunday 15 September.

Sacraments 2024:  First Reconciliation & First Eucharist

Below are the dates for First Holy Communion and First Reconciliation (Year 3 students) next term.   

• Wednesday 31/7/24 (Week 2 Term 3) - First Holy Communion and Reconciliation Enrolment Evening @ OLA 5:00pm. 
• Sunday 4/8/24 - First Reconciliation Lesson 1 
• Sunday 11/8/24 - First Reconciliation Lesson 2
• Sunday 18/8/24 - First Reconciliation Lesson 3
• Wednesday 21/8/24 (Week 5 Term 3) - Students make their First Reconciliation @ OLA 5:00pm. 
• Sunday 25/8/24  - First Holy Communion Lesson 1 
• Sunday 1/9/24  - First Holy Communion Lesson 2
• Sunday 8/9/24  - First Holy Communion Lesson 3
• Sunday 15/9/24  - First Holy Communion Celebrated @ 10am

If you have a Baptised child in Year 4, Year 5 or Year 6 that would like to make their First Reconciliation or First Holy Communion, they are very welcome to be part of this program. 

Year 6 RE Test Results

Last term our Year 6 students completed the Year 6 RE Test. The students did extremely well and as a school, our average score was higher than the Diocesan average. Well done!

We received 6 High Distinctions, 12 Distinctions, 21 Credits, 9 Participations! Congratulations students on your excellent effort and all staff for their religious instruction over the years.

Memorial Mass for Bishop Kevin Manning

On Thursday our four leaders represented St Mary's at the Memorial Mass for Bishop Manning who was the Bishop of our Diocese from 1991-1997. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

The 2024 Parish RCIA program WILL BE COMMENCING on Sunday 16 June.

If you are interested in becoming a Catholic or you have not received all of the Sacraments of initiation into the Church and you would like to join the group on a Sunday evening at 7pm for 20 weeks, please contact the Parish Office to register  - 67722218.
