Endeavour House News

Hi and welcome back to Endeavour House Boarding, Semester Two.

As the new term commences, the girls have resumed their school, sports, and life commitments with full vigor. Congratulations to those who have successfully implemented ‘soft landing’ strategies post-holiday. While the start of the term brings excitement, there are mixed emotions about returning to boarding. It is encouraging to see the girls developing effective coping mechanisms. We extend our gratitude to families for their unwavering support in facilitating these adjustments. With the initial settling-in period complete, the girls can now fully engage in the diverse opportunities available, including numerous sporting and recreational activities on and off campus.

Around the House

We have had a number of room allocation changes, and many are enjoying new neighbours and a change of scenery. Endeavour House is known for keeping bedrooms clean and tidy and I encourage the girls to keep up the great effort.

Rec shed re-vamp planning and preparations continue! It’s largely being driven by Grace and Fenella, with plenty of support from Mr Ashley Keatch. Our house captains have done a fabulous job to include the thoughts and requests of the rest of the house and we look forward to changes in that space very soon.

Endeavour House has been getting amongst the Olympic spirit, watching as many sports as possible and keeping a medal tally on the whiteboard. The Hockeyroos, in particular, certainly have lots of support in our house and I hope all the positive vibes are flowing all the way to Paris! Special shout out to our Gap Student; Paige, for being such a good sport and barracking for both South Africa and Australia. The Olympics have certainly been a wonderful way to bring everyone together and celebrate exceptional human talent.

The weekend just gone was a very quiet one in Endeavour, largely due to the regional netball carnival at ALAC. Many girls took the opportunity to have a break from the house and go on leave for the weekend. For the few girls who stayed in, it was lovely and peaceful!

Our prep routines are embedded now, the girls going to the library Monday to Thursday. After a period of adjustment last Semester, the girls seemed to have settled into the swing of it. One of the more positive and unique aspects of this structure is the opportunity to have academic staff from school available to support students learning for each session.

Generally, the girls are all doing so well, and they should be extremely proud of themselves. It’s a privilege for us, as staff, to watch their journey and support them in any which way we can.

Birthdays

Happy 15th birthday goes out to both Fenella O'Neill and Katelyn Ferry.  Fenella was very lucky to celebrate her birthday on the school holidays with her family and Katelyn turned 15 this week.  Many happy returns girls.
