Specialist Feature News: Visual Art

Selamat Siang!

The Specialist Teachers are so excited to welcome back students for Term 3! We have an exciting term ahead with Specialist events from all Learning Areas! This week we started our Swimming Program and we look forward to Mount Pleasant's Got Talent, Science Week and Indonesian Day later this term.

In Visual Arts this week the Junior School focused on painting techniques to create water colour backgrounds. We used the cool colour pallettes and earth toned pallettes to explore complementary colours. Next session, we will be designing our Uluru landscape and features for our foreground.

3/4 students learnt about the Boab Tree and the significance for traditional First Nations medicines as well as for art. Students created their own Boab seed drawing inspiration from the environment on our Country.

5/6 students dove into the draft and planning process, designing Olympic inspired logos and mascots, as well as starting our plan for our Tie Dye Unit! Students in Year 5 will be designing a bag and Students in Year 6 will be creating a Graduation Bear! Thanks to Miss T for sharing her Graduation Bear with the students for inspiration in our lesson!

Terima kasih!
