Cross Country Superstars!

Congratulations to our Cross Country superstar runners, Isla Harriss and Rosie McAllister, who have represented Hampton PS at the State Cross Country Championships last month. Both runners showed great determination and resilience all year as they have battled their way through with some of Victoria’s best runners! A disastrous fall impacted many runners in the 9yo race but Isla battled her way through to finish the race, and Rosie finished 25th in a competitive 10yo race. Well done to both competitors for representing our school with such integrity and resilience. Fantastic effort!

Ski Championships

Ever the competitive athlete, Isla Harriss has also been competing in the State Ski Championships with huge success! Isla has been loving her ski season and had some great races, including winning the Amelia McGuiness Giant Slalom Open Time Trial. She raced in a composite team with Firbank Grammar and the girls absolutely smashed the competition. Isla got the fastest individual time of all the primary age students (including the boys).  Despite being the fastest team on the day, composite teams aren’t recognised as state champs, so Melbourne Grammar School took the title and trophy. Great work, Isla! We love hearing about your sporting achievements!

Boys Soccer Division Final

Last Friday 2nd August saw our Boys Soccer team represent the Seaside District in the Kingston Division Final at Aspendale Gardens. The boys played some good football in their matches, but had not really been challenged all day until the final. Despite going 1-0 down in the first half, the boys settled down and easily took the victory, ending in a 3-1 win. Our team will now compete at Regionals on Wednesday 21st August (TBC). Good luck boys and keep playing great football. Let’s go Hampton!

Congratulations to our school hockey girls and tee-ball girls teams who played in the division finals last week. The students played some great games, though were unsuccessful in progressing through to regionals. Well done to all competitors for your hard work and representing our school with such respect and resilience.
