Dean of Middle Years

Transitions & Outcomes - Ms Simone Roche

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we come to the end of Catholic Education Week - a time dedicated to promoting the unique ethos of Catholic schools – we have had the opportunity to reflect on the contributions of our families, staff, and students, and celebrate the achievements that are possible when we work collaboratively.

Academic Achievement Assembly

In this week’s assembly, we came together to recognise the students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievements and significant improvements during Semester One of 2024.

We proudly recognized the achievement of students based on their GPA:

  • Bronze Certificate: GPA between 12.5 and 12.9
  • Silver Certificate: GPA between 13.0 and 13.4
  • Gold Certificate: GPA of 13.5 or above

In addition, we celebrated those who have improved their GPA by 1.0 or more points from Semester 2 of 2023 to Semester 1 of 2024. Each of these students has shown dedication and resilience, overcome challenges, and delivered outstanding results.  It was wonderful to see a record number of Gold Certificate recipients!  MtA really is soaring!

Homeroom Mentor Teacher Meetings and SET Planning Sessions

We thank every family and student for their attendance at the Homeroom Mentor Teacher meetings and SET Planning Sessions in the first week of Term 3.  These sessions provided every student with the opportunity to discuss personal goals and aspirations and consider thoughtfully their subject choices for 2025. Thank you to our dedicated staff who offer personalised mentoring and support to our students.

We also thank our families, staff, and parents for their continued involvement and support in making Catholic Education Week and these important academic milestones successful and meaningful. Together, we are building a community of faith and hope, enriching the lives of everyone at Mt Alvernia College.

Congratulations to all our award recipients!
