Reminder: Suitable devices from 2025 (NO Macs, iPads, Chromebooks, or similar

Dear Parents/Carers, 

This is a reminder that from 2025 the College network will NOT support Apple Macs, Chromebooks, iPads or similar devices from the commencement of 2025. 

In September 2021, the College advised the community that all BYOD laptops had to meet a new set of specifications. These specifications were based on the research that concluded that there are significant educational advantages to using laptops that have touch screen capabilities and which are supplemented with a stylus. This effectively meant that Apple Mac, Chromebooks, ipads and similar devices were no longer suitable as a BYOD device for use at College. It was decided that students would be able to transition off MAC/Chromebook laptops and/or ipads over a three-year period to allow any existing warranties to expire.

This means that from the commencement of 2025, the College network will not support Apple Macs, Chromebooks, iPad’s and similar devices. From 2025, only Windows based laptops will be permitted to be used at the College
