Term Three is often referred to as the most important term of Year 12. By the end of it, you will probably have completed your final units and either begun preparing for exams or possibly even be leaving Horsham College!

This term is only ten weeks long, which is exciting and scary, all at the same time. Hopefully over the holidays, you have been able to reflect on your journey so far and come up with a game plan for the next couple of months, however if you haven’t, click on these links from ‘Art of Smart’  and this one from ‘ATAR Notes’ to find previously mentioned ideas on small ways that may assist you at this point of the year.

With such a lot to get through, you will need to be prepared for the many busy moments (and associated feelings) that are on their way.

Art of Smart visualises a student’s possible stress levels during Term 3 as increasing over time, as seen above. They highlight the growing workload that comes from studying content, completing work requirements and SACs as the key factors of this, but notice that once these are done, stress levels will ease again.

This will be a challenging time, so look after yourself and plan ahead. Have ideas on ways to avoid burning out and talk with your support network (parents, family, teachers and friends). Think about how you will keep track of your workload, find motivation to study, and stay healthy in body and mind. Remember that Horsham College’s Academic Support Google Drive has many resources on it.
