Year 11 News

Tim Pitt & Taylor Shelley | Year 11 Coordinators

Congratulations to our Year 11 students on successfully completing their unit 1 studies. We have now moved into unit 2 subjects. This semester will pass quickly, so we encourage students to keep on top of their work and reach out to their teachers if they need additional support. A reminder to all students to wisely use your study days to ensure you have completed all set tasks and are revising your notes. Students are welcome to utilise the study centre on these days.

Year 12 Jumpers

We have started the process of arranging Year 12 garments for 2025. There will be regular updates to students and guardians as further information becomes available. Currently our Year 11 students are invited to submit a design for the Year 12 jumper design. Information regarding this has been sent to students via direqt message. Designs are due to Mrs Gardy by Friday 2nd August.

Subject Selection Day

Subject selection day will be held on 14th August. On this day students will attend an appointment with a member of the Year 11 team to select their preferred subjects for 2025 (for the all-important Year 12). Please note that while we will make every effort to accommodate student preferences, students will need to put in some additional preferences in case subjects do not run or there are timetable clashes. We encourage students and guardians to discuss subject selection at home prior to the day. Do your research – what are some careers your child is interested in? What courses could they complete to gain a qualification in this field? If your child is thinking about university, are there any pre-requisite subject for their chosen courses? If your child is considering the VCE Vocational Major, have they considered what VET course they will apply for? If your student has any questions, please get them to reach out to the year 11 team or a member of the careers team for guidance.
