PARTY program
Horsham College year 10 students have been fortunate enough to be invited to participate with other local schools in P.A.R.T.Y Program – Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth at the Horsham Town Hall on Thursday 1st August.
The Alfred's PARTY program is a dynamic and interactive injury awareness and prevention program which utilises true stories and experiences to show the impact of injury. The P.A.R.T.Y. team brings a group of clinicians to regional communities to deliver the P.A.R.T.Y. messages of choice, risk and consequence.
Emergency nurses, allied health personnel, and a past Alfred patient travel to the regional areas to bring P.A.R.T.Y. to students who otherwise may be restricted by distance to travel to the hospital for the program.
The Alfred shares a common goal with all P.A.R.T.Y. sites and trauma systems throughout Australia: to reduce the impact of trauma and burden of injury on society. P.A.R.T.Y. has been delivered to over 20,000 students since 2009.
All year 10 student will be attending, classes will not be running during period 2-4 on this day.
Students have been handed out a permission and medical form in Form Group over the past 2 days, forms will need to be returned to the front office by Wednesday 31st July.
