Attention, basketball enthusiasts in the northern ward of the Onkaparinga Council! Weโ€™re thrilled to announce the formation of the Southern Stingrays Basketball Club.ย

Inclusive and Supportive: Our mission? To create an all-inclusive space for kids and youth who love basketball. Whether youโ€™re on the spectrum or dealing with anxieties, we welcome you!ย 

ย 

Home Base and Team Building: The team are currently securing a home base for training sessions and assembling a fantastic team of coaches, managers, and committee members.

ย 

Ages 5 to 18: Know any young ballers aged 5 to 18? Spread the word! While training may take a few months to kick off, the club is excited to build something special together.ย 

ย

WELLBEING WEDNESDAYS AT ABERFOYLE COMMUNITY CENTRE

Are you a young person aged 16 to 25 and want to be a part of an awesome volunteer leadership and learning opportunity? Do you want to help create something amazing for young people at your local community centre?

ย 

Wellbeing Wednesdaysย is a term time program held at Aberfoyle Community Centre supporting young people aged 13-17 with the tools to build resilience, learn new skills and have open conversations around mental health. The project is founded on a peer support model with a focus on creating a fun, vibrant space where young people with shared experiences can connect. Thatโ€™s where youcome in!ย 

ย 

Youth Mentor Support Leaders will attend the Wellbeing Wednesday sessions to first of all โ€“ make the place a great space to hangout and have fun! We want young people to be able to drop in after school and feel relaxed and know they are supported.ย 

ย 

Youth Mentor Support Leaders will get to brainstorm youth program activities, help shape Aberfoyle Community Centreโ€™s new facility as well as slowly build rapport with the young participants that take part in the program.

ย 

As a Youth Mentor Support Leader, you will receive training and support to undertake the Teen Mental Health First Aid course, Child Safe Environments training and other professional development opportunities.

ย 

All Youth Mentor Support Leaders will have support from City of Onkaparinga Youth Team staff at every session.
