Year 7 Orientation Day
On Tuesday December 10th, Thornbury High welcomed its latest cohort of future Year 7’s to our school community, as we hosted the Grade 6 students joining us in 2025.
The 2025 Year 7 cohort will be our largest year level in some time, with 9 classes of students starting their Secondary school journey with us. These students are coming to us from 35 different Primary Schools across Melbourne.
As is usual at Thornbury High, our two largest feeder Primary Schools are again Wales St PS and Fairfield PS, who will account for a combined 65 students in the Year level in 2025.
We also look forward to welcoming large numbers of students from Preston PS, Penders Grove PS, Alphington PS, Ivanhoe PS, Holy Spirit PS and Reservoir PS.
These students, along with the others from our smaller PS’s, spent a full school day at Thornbury High, getting a taste of what life would be like as a Year 7 student.
Throughout the day, they spent time with their new class for 2025, participated in subjects such as Phys Ed, Food Studies, Visual Arts and Performing Arts and also completed an Orienteering session around our school.
We hope that the Orientation Day has helped acclimatise our students to life with us here and helped to calm any nerves before Day 1, 2025.
We wish all our future families a happy holiday break and look forward to welcoming our youngest students to our community in 2025.
