2024 IN REVIEW

What a year 2024 has been in mathematics at Holy Name!

We have achieved so much in this area in 2024 and I would like to thank all of the teachers and LSOs who have contributed so much to the students' learning in mathematics this year.

Some of our achievements in mathematics have been:

  • an awesome Maths Day in Term 1, with a fantastic dress-up parade.  You never fail to amaze me with how creative and dedicated our parent community is!
  • Maths Olympiad and Explorer running from Grades 3-6, working on students' problem-solving skills
  • GMG (Mindset Group) has been a new addition to our maths landscape this year. Where some of our Grade 6 girls have met regularly with me to work on their mindset toward mathematics. This has probably been my favourite part of the week, watching them grow so much. Well done girls!
  • Personalised Number Goals have been occurring throughout the year from Prep through to Year 6. To see the students work independently at their own level and be so driven to achieve their next goal, has been awesome.

Overall, 2024 has seen some great things happening in the maths area with much more in the pipeworks already for 2025.

FAREWELL

I wanted to take this opportunity to say goodbye and thank you for what has been an amazing six years at Holy Name. You have been such a welcoming and supportive community, who have embraced the many initiatives in mathematics with open arms; from supporting your children with their number goals to creating some of the most epic costumes for Maths Day. I have loved being a part of this community and working with your beautiful children to build in them a love of mathematics.

I hope you all have a safe and Merry Christmas and a fantastic 2025.
