Literacy with Mrs Maria Lontos
We have come to the end of another great year of teaching and learning. Thank you to all the students for all their hard work and excellent efforts this year, and thank you to all of you, parents and carers, for your support and energy over 2024.
All the students have worked so hard this year, and below is only a small snippet of some of the great work that the students have done in Term 4.
Learning never stops, and over the school holidays is a crucial time to keep practising some of the core skills that students have learnt this year.
Here is a small list of some things to do at home over the holidays to support literacy and numeracy skills;
READ READ READ!! Christmas jokes, books, comics, newspapers, post cards, menus, the list is endless!
Write about your day! Keep a journal of all the best things that you do over the holidays. You can take photos or draw pictures to match your writing so that you can capture the summer break.
Make something with lego following the instructions.
Follow a recipe and make something delicious!
Map out your day trips and adventures using Google Maps.
Write an email to your friends or teacher sharing something exciting about the holidays.
Write some of your own Christmas jokes and tell them to your family.
