Key Dates & Reminders
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
All students finish school next week on Tuesday 17th December. A reminder that this day is an early finish for students with a 12:30 pickup.
YEAR 6 GRADUATION
We will be celebrating our Year 6s this coming Thursday 12th December, with a Mass and Graduation ceremony in the Hall @ 7:00. We ask everyone to arrive at 6:45 to ensure everyone is seated prior to the beginning of Mass. Thank you to all our Year 6 families who have replied to our recent Operoo asking for attendee numbers, to help us cater for this event.
VINNIES CHRISTMAS APPEAL
Each year at Christmas time Vinnies give a hand up to those in our community who are experiencing some hardships. To help support them in the wonderful work that they do, we will be selling Icy Poles at lunch time for a Gold Coin on THURSDAY & FRIDAY. Last year we raised over $500 due to everyone’s generosity and we are hoping to achieve a similar amount this year.
COLOUR RUN
This term we have been working towards a whole school reward as part of our Positive Behaviours for Learning. We are very excited to announce that we have now achieved our goal and will be holding a Whole School COLOUR RUN. A Colour Run is a fun event where students run a circuit of the oval while they are splashed with water and coloured powder.
This was scheduled for Monday, 16th December, however due to the extreme heat forecast that day, we will need to reschedule this.
Families will receive an Operoo notification later tonight with full details or our final decisions. Below are the things you need to know about the day should it go ahead this year.
- Parents welcome to join us
- Students wear a white tee shirt and shorts that they are happy to get colour on
- As it is planned for the end of the day, students will go home in their T Shirt which may be wet and coloured with powder. We suggest bringing and old towel to wrap them in before they enter your car.

SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION DATE 2025
Each year we work with St Andrew’s Parish to secure our Sacramental dates for the following year. We have scheduled the Sacrament of Reconciliation for Term 1. This sacrament is offered to Baptised Catholic students in Year 3. Parents will be required to attend a Preparation Meeting on Thursday 13th March @ 7pm in the School Hall. We will be celebrating the Sacrament the following week on Thursday 20th March @ 7pm in the School Hall.
FAMILY HOLIDAYS @ THE BEGINNING OF TERM 1
Families who may not be back for the commencement of the 2025 school year, are asked to contact the office. Clear communication enables us to ensure all enrolment placements can be held with confidence.
Families should also be aware that the first weeks of the school year are an important time whereby your child becomes familiar with their new classmates, teacher and the routines of the new class. Families should think carefully about these impacts before booking extended holidays.
CONTACTING THE SCHOOL OVER THE HOLIDAYS
We ask families to contact the school via email, should your start to 2025 be delayed due to your family needing to isolate or your enrolment circumstances changing. This can be done by emailing the principal: principal@stjatarneit.catholic.edu.au
FEE STRUCTURE INFORMATION FOR 2025
As the school is now under the governance of MACS, school fees are determined using a system wide formula. This formula takes into account each school’s loans, current building projects and the school’s allocated DMI index. Below are the calculated School Fees for St John’s for 2025, which are inline with this new model. The model includes a Capital Levy which assists schools with the repayment of any current building loans. St John’s is currently in Stage 4 of our building program and as such we fall under the category requiring a Capital Levy. Please be assured that St John’s has tried to minimise the impact these changes will have on household budgets. Families with a current Government Health Care Card are reminded that they are eligible for concessions to the Family Tuition Fee.
Family Tuition Fee - $1840 per family
Student Levy - $400 per student
Capital Levy - $100 per family
Parish Stewardship Program - Our parish of St Andrew’s Werribee encourages a family contribution of $260 per family
