As mentioned throughout this newsletter update, our Western Port Mob extend their congratulations to our Leader, Nash Jones for achieving such a deadly result in becoming our 2024 DUX! Equally we are proud of Jessyka, Lexi and Ash for also completing VCE-ATAR and being such incredible role models to all of us.

KELiS Hosting at Western Port Secondary College - again!

We are excited to announce that due to the success of the KELiS day at WPSC, we will be hosting the Term 1 event on Thursday 20th March. Due to a huge funding boost of $50,000 from the AEC, we will now be able to invite an increased number of students to the event. Stay tuned for these invitations!

Community Collaboration on Mural and Sports Uniforms

A big thank you to our community for providing valuable feedback to shape our upcoming Indigenous mural and sports uniform designs! Our mural is due to be painted in the first week of February and our Sports uniform design will be unveiled soon - very exciting and empowering!

1:1 Classroom Coaching

Our 1:1 Teacher Classroom Coaching program has successfully wrapped up for another year with a key focus on supporting our Year 9 teachers during Jump Start. Next year we look forward to inducting 10 new teachers into our College as we grow in numbers and experience. 

Instructional Skills Observations

From Week 2 of this term, we have been visiting classes as a School Improvement Team to gather data on our Instructional Skills, SWPBS processes and implementation of our Instructional Model (The WIM). By getting into our classes and giving our teachers feedback on their pedagogy, we can see where our focus needs to shift for 2025 and this is an exciting space to be in!

Practice Meetings

Our Practice meetings this term have really focused around our move to Classroom Mastery in 2025. This program is fully funded by the Mornington Peninsula Foundation for WPSC and we look forward to sharing more in this ground breaking space next year!
