AFL SportsReady is now accepting applications for the St Virgil's College Sports Trainee position, commencing in 2025 (Full-Time role). This is your chance to earn while you learn, gain valuable workplace experience, and develop essential skills to enhance your future career prospects.
The Sports Trainee will work under the guidance of the Director of Sport and Community Liaison to help expand student participation in quality sport and recreation programs at the College.

The sVc Sports Trainee will assist in planning, organising, and executing sports and recreational activities, ensuring these programs are accessible, inclusive, and engaging for all students. The role will involve collaborating with College staff and the community to encourage student involvement, monitor program progress, and provide feedback to enhance the quality and effectiveness of offerings. In alignment with the College’s values, the Trainee will contribute to a positive and safe sporting environment that fosters the well-being and growth of students.

Another busy weekend of action for Team sVc as we took to the court in the 2024 Basketball Tasmania State High School Championships in Launceston.
Our Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 Div 1 teams battled it out against the best school teams from across the state in what can only be described as fiercely competitive matches.
Congratulations to all students, coaches, managers, and support crew for representing St Virgil's College with pride and producing some outstanding results.
The Year 7/8 team finished Runners Up, whilst the Year 9/10 team finished 3rd overall.

Congratulations to Team sVc who were recently declared joint winners (alongside Hutchins) of the 2024 SATIS state-wide T20 Cricket Tournament.
Unfortunately, day 1 was washed out due to rain in Launceston. However amongst the rain delays a new Team sVc tradition started with our 1st XI squad being presented with their baggy blue caps and playing numbers from Tasmanian Cricket royalty, Tim Coyle. The boys playing numbers will be forever etched into the St Virgil's College rich history books and something for the students to fondly look back on in years to come.

Team sVc had a great day battling tough weather conditions in the recent 2024 High Schools Triathlon Challenge at Bellerive Beach. There was some great sportsmanship and teamwork on display.
