Cyber Safety/STEM
As we approach the end of the year it has been terrific to see students finishing off assessment in Senior STEM and achieving so much success. Hopefully, at home, families can enjoy and celebrate this too! In Years 5 and 6 learners have been independently making circuits with a switch. Hopefully, a few Christmas cards have made their way home with Year 6 learners that include some LED lights and students explaining what they created and how a circuit works. We also want to complete some small 3D-printed Christmas decorations like in the pictures below.
In Years 3 and 4 students have been learning about coding for their final unit. Students are learning how programming works and the problem-solving skills required to experience success. Students have been learning about loops and coding lego creations, making their own music, or creating a game through hour of code activities.
It has been terrific to see the engagement and focus students have displayed and see the smile on their faces when they share a finished product with a teacher or peer.
Also a quick reminder as the school year finishes up that all learner devices will be kept at school over the holidays. You may give your device a light clean with a baby wipe and please return the charger to avoid a fee added to your school account.
