Welcome back everyone, this week we would like to introduce ourselves as your new school captains for 2025. Unfortunately, Matteos has been away so he will introduce himself in the next newsletter.

Hi, my name is Hunter Obedoza and I am 11 years old. I was born on the 10th of September 2013 and this year I will be turning 12 years old. My parents are from the Philippines but I was born in Australia.

I live with my mum, dad, and younger sister. I also have an older brother who is a nurse and he lives in Queensland.

As a family, we love to travel around the world. We have been to many countries including France, Italy, Switzerland, America, the Philippines, Japan and many others.

At school, my favourite subject is maths because I enjoy solving word problems and I really like doing math quizzes. My favourite specialist subject is PE because I love trying different sports and other activities.

My hobbies are gaming with my friends, rugby, but my most favourite hobby is basketball. I am currently playing Under 14 domestic basketball for the Aitken Creek Ravens, I also play rep basketball for the Craigieburn Eagles.

I would say that I love basketball and it is my passion. One day, when I’m older, I hope to play basketball professionally, maybe even for the NBA. I believe that If you set your mind on your goals you can achieve your dreams.

Hi, my name is Imogen Anderson,

and I am 11 years old. My background is Irish and Dutch and I love my background.

A few of my hobbies include tennis, running, singing and gymnastics. I love running because when I run I feel as though I am in a whole other world being myself competing by myself. Singing is the same because I also feel like I am in a whole new world and I am just me.

I am so excited for this year because I am going to show others what a change I can make to this amazing school and how I can help others grow and show who they are. Other things include sharing new thoughts and ideas to show what a change I can make and participating in big events that happen at school.

I live with my mum, my dad, my twin, my sister and my dog who have helped me along my pathway to School Captain and showed me I can be me.

My favourite subjects include writing and maths because I love writing stories and poems and for maths, I like working with numbers. I don’t have a favourite specialist, so it would

be all of them.

School Captain does not just mean you are a leader of everyone, it means you are responsible for showing others the right way to act and guiding them through their time at Our Lady's. Something I would like to achieve is getting into the Olympics as a runner. To achieve this goal I need to keep running to continue dreaming of what I can be in the future.

Hello, my name is Lisa Dsa and I am 11 years old. My background is Indian with strong Roman Catholic Values. I live with my Mum, Dad, my younger brother and my Nana. I value my family a lot as I have learnt good values and ways to be compassionate within the community.

Firstly I would like to thank all the staff and my friends at Our Lady's for giving me this privilege of being a school captain this year. It's definitely a dream come true!

My favourite subjects at school are Maths and English because  I like calculations and writing stories. My hobbies are reading books, drawing, travelling and researching about space. During my free time at home, I like helping my mum with the cooking, my dad and Nana with gardening and my brother with reading eggs as well as using my telescope to observe the celestial objects. When I grow up I would like to be a Doctor, so I can discover new medicines to cure terminal illness and render my service to the community.

Being a School Captain this year I look forward to making this year more fun and memorable for all the students and teachers. I believe being a School Captain is not only a responsibility but also an opportunity to role model exceptional qualities of radiating positivity and compassion in our school community.

Together let's live the values of our school and make memories worth to treasure this year.

We hope everyone has had a great start to the year, and please come and say hello when you see us around the school.

Signing off for this week...
