Principal's Message

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

Yesterday was an exciting day for our students (including our Year 6 Students visiting the Secondary Schools) as they had the unique opportunity to experience what learning will look, feel, and sound like for the 2025 academic school year. During a two-hour Orientation & Transition Program, students were introduced to their teachers for next year and participated in a range of engaging activities designed to:

  • Build and nurture relationships within their new class groups,

  • Revisit learning expectations, and

  • Most importantly, have fun in their learning environments!

We believe this program has set a strong foundation for a smooth transition into the next academic year and has sparked enthusiasm for the exciting opportunities ahead.

Changes to Class Locations in 2025

In preparation for 2025, our school will undergo several changes during the upcoming school holidays, including movements in class locations. Below is a site map illustrating where classrooms will be situated next year. We hope this will help families familiarise themselves with the new layout ahead of time.

Welcoming Mrs. Carolyn Goode

Today, we were delighted to officially welcome Mrs. Carolyn Goode, our Interim Principal for 2025. Mrs. Goode had the opportunity to meet with staff and students, as well as participate in learning walks throughout the school. During her visit, she gained a deep appreciation for the rich vision and mission of Sacred Heart School. We look forward to her leadership as we embark on the next chapter of our school’s journey.

Sacred Heart Colour Run – A Spectacular Evening Despite the Weather

Despite the more than challenging weather on Friday, our Sacred Heart families braved the conditions for an evening of fun, laughter, and, most of all, a Colour Explosion! Students enthusiastically navigated the obstacle course while dodging a barrage of vibrant coloured powder, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of joy and excitement.

Thank you to all the parents who showed incredible support by attending, even in the face of the initial conditions. It was clear from the beaming smiles on our students' faces that the event was well worth the effort.

A special thank you goes to the members of the School Advisory Council and our many volunteers whose dedication ensured the event could happen. As the saying goes, "Many hands make light work," and this was particularly evident given the trying weather conditions.

We are incredibly grateful to the Tatura Lions Club for cooking the delicious BBQ—your continuous support throughout the 2024 Academic School Year has been deeply appreciated. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to Goulburn Valley Water for providing the Hydration Station, which allowed families to stay refreshed throughout the evening.

The organisation committee has learned so much from planning and hosting this event and is already looking forward to making the Colour Run in 2025 an even bigger and better spectacular!

For students who participated in the official fundraising, your prizes have been delivered to the school and will be distributed early next week through your classrooms. We are also finalising the financials from the evening and will communicate the final fundraising results early next week.

Lastly, I want to thank the Sacred Heart parent community for your unwavering support. It is through events like this that we continue to build and strengthen our wonderful community.

God bless,

Jamie McDowall
